This sounds much better than I thought it would, just sorely missing Hinds' solos and vox, thought he was by far the best vocalist in the band. Having Troy doing most of the vocals really brings this down a notch further than it should be

So hyped to dig into this in the morning, Mastodon is one of my favorite bands. These ratings are very encouraging

Its honestly really stellar. I'm surprised how good this turned out. The last couple albums have been strong but this is somehow a step up from a already really solid stretch

don't embarrass yourself kus
one things for sure, i like this already like twice as much as i did Hushed. That record was such a drag and quite overrated imo, this one is a breeze despite its runtime

There is a massive gulf between my interest in this band and the size of the venues they play, tours, etc. I respect and appreciate them, but like this review Crack the Skye is really all that ever intrigued me.

I won't stand for all this Hushed & Grim slander
This rules, but so did that album IMO. They're both superb.

Hushed is great but this is weirder, more proggy, heavier, tighter tracklist
. It's better in basically every way
