This isn’t thrash at all. Horrible marketing. 0/10 would not recommend!

Brandon Flowers - Metallica

Album Rating: 4.0

Aside from the fact that it’s Brandon Flowers doing Americana, I really don’t think this is terribly similar to Pressure Machine. But it scratches the same itch, for sure. This one feels a little more fun, lower stakes, less intense. It also leans more heavily into country, which is pretty cool (and surprising). Overall really enjoying this and I hope it only means he continues going this direction!

I will say though, One of Us is repetitive enough that I really only need to hear it like once a month lol

Agreed that it's more fun and lower stakes than PM. That's why it's such a smooth easy listen, and also why it'll never be quite as good as PM. Overall, this is better than I expected any solo BF to be.

This might grow to become a 4 eventually, but very pleasantly surprised with this one. It's kind of what I envision a country-focused album from Brian Fallon would be like.

This doesn't get anywhere near Pressure Machine
