It doesn't reach the highs of Chapter 1 (namely, the title track and Sacrifice of the Mass) but it's also more to my taste. I love the heavy stuff but I have always preferred his vibey, pretty, atmospheric, goth, and glam sides. That's why Mechanical Animals will always be his best album and We Are Chaos (and now this album) will probably speak to me more than the rest. I also enjoy the shades of Eat Me, Drink Me on Chapter 2 because that is his most underrated work by far.

None of the Suns is the standout here with Don't Answer The Door, All The Vilest Things, and Enantiomorph right up there with it. This is an incredibly solid double album and Manson is basically a walking advertisement for sobriety at this point.

One Assassination Under God > Unalive
No Funeral Without Applause < Don't Answer the Door
Nod If You Understand < Front Toward Enemy
As Sick As The Secrets Within > All The Vilest Things
Sacrilegious < None of the Suns
Death Is Not A Costume > Lucifer's Teardrop
Meet Me In Purgatory > The Arsonist
Raise The Red Flag < Exit Wound
Sacrifice Of The Mass > Enantiomorph

Crazy how close some of these are for me. It's a good sign. You could make two very different albums if you swapped these around.

Album Rating: 4.3

after having some more time with it, it's definitely a grower album. feel like there's a lot more to digest with this one.

I'm at a point where if MM releases an album without Tyler Bates I'm not listening.

Like... these two have extraordinary chemistry to the point it makes MM's other releases without him lag behind.
