@kingjulian yeah, i hate being at the point where i'm scared if i like a song now cuz what if it doesn't hit the same
this is holding up very well and yes "easily the most interesting things she's made on a purely musical level" [2]

As long as this album still has pay phones that cost a dollar a minute, I'll be happy.

The title track is already one of my favorite songs of hers.
“You know me and I’ll never forgive you for that.”
god cmon man you can’t drop that shit on me right now

I think Punisher is probably the better album overall but man this has some wildly HIGH highs
The front half-ish of it specifically. Second half ain’t bad or anything tho. As Above would’ve been a great closer tbh, I’m not super crazy about the actual closer

“undeniably excellent and easily the most interesting things she's made on a purely musical level.”
Without a doubt. I dunno. It’s been so damn long since Punisher, I’m glad she came back with something a little more out there even if there’s some misses on it.
I’ve said this about like three records this year but I’d rather an artist take a stab at something “weird” for them opposed to them going over ground they already covered. To me Punisher was Stranger in the Alps damn near perfected and this is a whole different animal.

Punisher is better, but this is still superb

yeah @wildcard
riskier stuff like this feels so much more appropriate.
if everything was as good as Kill Me - Bobby, this would be quite the landmark, i can't get over that stretch, they all feel just so good back to back. t/t is great too but that feels like the next section

it was interesting listening to this in the planetarium not knowing where tracks ended and others began. probably more to its detriment but everything still sounded sublime in that room
