ive not seen them but a lot of their popularity seems to be down to their live shows and performances. it aint that deep, most people just like to turn their brain off and have fun at gigs. also the demographic they are most popular with are people who are in their 30s, who would have some nostalgia for 90s/early 00s disco pop. plus they are German, the krauts love them some disco and some cheese.
band is 100% gimmicky and not for me, but after hearing some of this I kinda 'got it' i think

I do think indeed that if you are not German or a country close to it, you would enjoy this band a lot less. What also adds to their popularity are their hilarious videoclips, I think they helped them out a ton.

yeah their music videos def help. idk it's catchy and fun dumb metalcore i don't really think it's all that deep or complicated. this one is just a worse tekkno. feels kinda undercooked tbh. the babymetal track is over 2 yrs old and was on babymetal's last album and there's a cover + 4 remixes lol
