Apparently it was the original working title before it became that. Nice little Easter egg

Hmm maybe I'm crazy but I feel like I'm hearing the sidechaining on Tell Slater

If I don’t really like the original but imma fan of the band (TIAH and sandpitturtle being my fav albums)….will this do anything for me?
I mean, I’ll prob give it a listen at some point any way, but if it’s a case of if you didn’t like the original you won’t like this, I won’t rush to it. Got tons of music I need to listen to still.

This is pretty cool. Drums are definitely a bit overcooked but the guitars and vocals sound great.

the riffs sound like a wet paper bag. no punch at all.

Don’t get it twisted…google is nobody’s friend.

The new versions go so hard, there’s a few parts where I prefer the vocals of the original but I’ve been listening to those versions forever so I’m used
how they used to sound.

I may lower this to a 3.5 since it doesn't do too much new outside of a few things, (mostly) better production, and more intense vocals, but man, this is probably the new way to listen to this record.
That said, I was not a fan of the drums at all on "Fifteen Fathoms".

This is better than lonely people with power.

Starting my run, 'Pray For Plagues' already sounds excellent.

I really didn't expect much, but this slaps. Playing it out loud on a decent hifi system sounds so damn good. Night and day difference from the original mix. Obviously there's the nostalgia, but man it's such a fun listen.

I always thought the original sounded like ass. Which is weird cuz I don't usually care about production THAT much.
Really like this new version though, really lets the songs shine. Dehumanized fucks too - do an album like that please.

we live in the age of creatively bankrupt bigshots re-hashing and re-making previous hits for nostalgia across all mediums. a lot of these re-makes can still be individually great, but it doesn't stop them from being a creatively lazy decision.
BMTH are in the same boat here - regardless of opinion of the actual music itself - re-visiting something they know is a fan favourite is a far safer option that trying to forge ahead with a new identity and new material without the guy who defined the sound who launched them to superstardom (Jordan Fish). so while I agree doing a faithful adaptation and paying respect to the original source material is all commendable, it's still a very safe move
this kinda scene deathcore aint really my shit even if the new production does sound great and the performances have some balls to them. Dehumanized does rule though and more of that would honestly be the most exciting the band could probably take

Ok this is overproduced to shit, but I'm digging it lol.

Yeah there’s a broader trend in modern media toward remaking/remastering established classics rather than taking creative risks and it kind of sucks. I mean, reissues and remakes and what have you aren’t inherently bad, and I think in some instances the original artistic intent is preserved amazingly well (and in very few cases even improved), but too often it’s just monetized nostalgia and a loss of historical context.
This is especially pervasive in the video game industry. There’s a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved coming out this month and it looks like absolute dogshit to me. Fundamentally misunderstands the atmosphere and isolationism of the original game. Replaces very deliberate art design with a sanitized Unreal 5 engine look that caters to the “ooh look how pretty the graphics are” crowd. Too often these things come down to flashy presentation with no real substance.
