oh they absolutely deserved to be shat on the past couple decades. this feels like the first time since black holes where Matt realized “hey wait im actually talented and can make good music when i want to”

If anything he overestimated how talented he is and starting sniffing his owns farts thinking he was making oh so cutting edge and vital music. This is atleast less pretentious and a return to just making some solid vaguely sci-fi alt rock
