Best one since We Were Dead - just feels more consistent, weighty and more tied to their signature sound than certainly the last one and maybe half of Strangers.

I really dig We Were Dead (overall better than Good News imo) and this is a lot like that, has a sweet mainstream indie sensibility with just enough quirks in the mix.

Frankly, I don't remember what any of their albums since Good News... sound like, but this is really fun.

gabba, check We Were Dead some time - it’s their mainstream indie album near enough, and a lot of fun

I will do that Doof, just checked the soundoffs to that album, completely forgot it has Johnny Marr on it.

Missed The Boat has always been my feel good MM go-to song. Everyone listening to We Were Dead for the first time is in for a treat (assuming you like this band a bunch).

It sounds like Isaac does a Mark Kozelek impression in "Dogbed in Heaven", innit?

This and Death Cab for Cutie is all very early 2000s wormhole.
