Really digging this so far. This album definitely is better than their last one.

I think the bonus tracks Heights and Oxygen are important to this album.

None of the songs really stands out . I'll have to give a few more listens though . It's Evergrey , nothing new under the sun but that's usually OK , though I must say that since "The Atlantic" that was a brilliant concept album they didn't really deliver IMO

The Atlantic was their best last album...
This is alright I guess, couple of songs are ok, but nothing worthy of relistening.
I don't get this guys, for example "Escape Of The Phoenix" had one of my favorite Evergrey songs ever made "In The Absence Of Sun" and the rest of the album was meh.

Man, why'd they have to go with this album cover? Shit's so cheap and tacky, lol
Anyway, I'll check the album out at some point. I liked Theories of Emptiness quite a bit, but I've been seeing a much more mixed reception for this one

@Piripichotes, Evergrey albums usually grow in time for me, but this is the first time ever that I've listened to a new one and not had at least a few tracks standout. Everything is just mediocrely good - and that's a problem. There's no magic here.
Koris, the artwork is awful agreed. As soon as I saw it, I said "oh God, this reminds me of Glorious Collision." Sure enough.

'I think the bonus tracks Heights and Oxygen are important to this album.'
They arent on the album though.
You cant consider those tracks as part of your score for the album because the album exists without these songs on it!! Officially Not On it.
If the band wanted these songs to make up the consideration of the review of the album they should of included them on the album.
Sorry - a pet peeve about bonus tracks, and often they are some of the better songs. But like i said keep in mind some people will have a copy of this album without them on it, so to rate the album with them in consideration is bonkers.

How weird they released Oxygen as a single and then it wasn’t even on the album.
Listening tot he album again now and I’ve come to the conclusion it’s really the sound production & mix that I hate. If this album sounded like Torn (2008) for example, I’m sure I would’ve liked it much better. Can’t stand the flat “modern” compressed sound with no balls.
