I think it could help for context. To me this is like a middle ground between Geo and TH

Neurosis back in top spot, thought this might just hold on a bit longer.
Just went back and looked at the 2025 chart....you know if there was one thing I'd snap my fingers and instantly change on Sput to improve the charts a hundred fold it would be to make soundtracks/game soundtrack ineligible to qualify for inclusion on the charts.
Half the charts have a soundtrack with 40 votes top for the year and sometimes four of the top six albums of the year are soundtracks.
Makes the charts a joke I'm sorry (2011 and 2017?).

hmm im beginning to think there's something to some of the criticism for this. i'm struggling to want to come back to it, but that could be a symptom of so much other great music coming out.
on repeat listens i found the stretch of tracks after Naraka to really take the energy down and become pretty boring, and then either because it had lost momentum or whatever I really found myself not getting back into it. found myself fighting the urge to just skip through the tracks. first leg is great but def feeling this as their weakest album, which is fine given they are like 50 something now. really wish more of this felt like Hydrogen Helium Lithium Leviathon and Naraka

they would be hard pressed to make something more lackluster than campfire, but this is comfortably behind the other three full lengths.
although, that doesn’t mean much, because it’s still a great album. blood in the labyrinth and arena americanada are on the back half and they’re two of the standouts.
