I liked Laurentian Blue for what it was! Buuuuut I also haven’t revisited it since it released so idk.

I just found it to be super boring. Definitely his worst.

Same. That was all the folk I needed from him.

I enjoy folk music a lot but I didn’t find Laurentian Blues very entertaining after 2-3 listens

Same, it just hits so hard. Shame about the caribou too. Apparently we used to have them even pretty recently in Washington state, but the roads and habitat degradation drove their population so low that the last ones had to be relocated to B.C. in 2019. Damn travesty.

Oh, and I relistened to the first two installments of the trilogy again and this was definitely the right way to end it, I think. Leaning even harder into the emotion ftw m/

I remember when this guy dropped that Kentucky album and had lotta people split. That fiddle, banjo, and washboard paid off big time

Bumped the rating on this, I think it's just so emotionally overwhelming that it's hard for me not to view it as 4.8+, which functionally is a 5. I think my rating of the trilogy are this > Into the Light > Rime, but all are definitely 4+, and this and Light are very close.

Rime is probably my favorite of the trilogy but I can see this surpassing it one day.

Favorite overall is always gonna be autumn eternal. Seeing them play it in glacier national park was something else.

Just ordered this on CD. It's been giving me a moment for going on two days now so I think it's earned the $18 price tag lol

This rules so hard, it’s been a while since I’ve been so actively impressed by a bm album like this, I love it. Definitely an AOTY contender.

Yee I listen on Bandcamp. He took it off a while back I think in protest for one of the shitty things they're doing or supporting. Maybe running ICE ads?
