this album feels like a prog influenced take on Kyo’s other band, Petit Brabancon. If you’re looking for energy and aggression, check that one out. Their full length was awesome.

Never heard of that project! I still need to listen to sukekiyo bc I’ve heard great things.

This album is significantly worse than Phalaris and TIW, easily their worst album to me so far.

Newest Sukekiyo full length is top 4 for Kyo easily. I’m mixed on their other stuff, but Erosio is a masterpiece

didnt finish the whole album but the riffs on the first half gave me big Adam Jones vibes, like they sound like 10,000 Days era b-side riffs. not a bad thing but didnt feel like it ever hit the higher gears

Arche is one of my favorite albums of all time, really a shame to see the decline like this.

“didnt finish the whole album but the riffs on the first half gave me big Adam Jones vibes, like they sound like 10,000 Days era b-side riffs. not a bad thing but didnt feel like it ever hit the higher gears” damn, that sucks. It gets pretty wild after The Devil In Me

drums don’t sound bad, just no room to them

This is definitely good, but one of their lesser albums imo.

Drums sound horrible because
- I don't like the weak, loose snare sound. But this is mostly subjective. Phalaris's is way better.
- The snare is louder than everything else, so unison notes sound weird.
- The toms get lost in the mix and are difficult to differentiate.
- They sound weirdly compressed, so there are almost no dynamics to them. The best example of this is 2:04 roll in Bloodline, which sounds very strange. The accent notes are barely louder than the rest of the notes, which is very unnatural and almost certainly due to compression and not how Shinya actually plays it.

In the middle of my first listen. Agreed about the compressed production. So far, "Void" is probably my favorite track. It gives off some Dum Spiro vibes.

not a chance mate. i'm still spinning this a ton and it doesn't even come close to their best stuff. i'd actually argue this could be their worst album to date. at least macabre has some interesting moments. this is completely forgettable.

this and phalaris are easily their worst at least to me. This is by far the worst tho. Also macabre rules and id bet you a lot of og fans consider that album a classic, the songs are really good

theres def some decent tracks here, but still feels pretty under baked overall. that said, give me some good riffs and Kyo being a madman, and I'm still gonna have a good time

Phalaris has some low points but I feel it still has plenty of memorable moments in it, whereas this goes in my ears and I’ve forgotten everything when it’s finished lol

Come to enjoy this album from Mobs on. The production is still really bad and the rest of the album doesn't really do anything for me so I can't really justify bumping my rating but those 6 tracks are pretty good. Especially MOBS, Void, and Demand.
