I was so excited to listen to this album & I was severely let down. I disagree with what you said about Technology and Priorities being inconsistent. I don’t get any hints of consistency from Nightmare Tripping. Most disappointing album of the first quarter.

enjoyed this way more than I thought I would

I might have been too critical. I've found myself wanting to listen to this album more. Still sticking to the singles, but Pacify Me, Somersaults, and the title track have really grown on me. I was just salty.

This album sounds like when you knock the vase off the mantle and scramble to put it back together.

yeah i think the schizophrenic nature of a lot of this actually lends itself to the fun of the record. really vibing it, ending up being a top 10 album of the first part of the year.

Need to give this another couple of spins at least, but I mostly enjoyed it on the first playthrough. However, it did leave me a touch cold/disappointed and I think the review touches upon my feelings quite well in places. It's definitely got it's moments, but it's not as good as Amazing Things and I can't quite put my finger on the overall vision of this one (yet).

This is pretty fun. Just turn your brain off, don't think too hard about it, and enjoy the pop music with down tuned guitars and breakdowns.

I could if this was more self-aware.
