Nice. Yeah the setlists looked killer.

I assumed Mercedes was his kids name but I couldn't find anything online. Could just be a random non-meaning working title that never got changed to something more official

what happened w/ Trembling Level? glad at the change in direction from that song though, what i've heard so far is great

Tough to even pick highlights after the first couple spins because this is just solid front to back. Feels like it's gonna end up about even with YCBY and The Tropic Rot at the top of my PtW ranking

Maybe revisit Versions and Tropic if you like this one. I get how Versions isn't for everyone, but Peace in Place ain't thaaaaat much of a stretch from Tropic.

@Fignewtns
Trembling Level was from the early studio sessions before they really got to work on the entire album..likely didn't make the cut because they released it as a standalone.
I am curious, however, because some of the mixes on this album sound a bit odd. For example, Wax Mask and Primal Bloom are more mid-rangey and definitely sound like they were recorded at a different time than the rest of the album. Perhaps Trembling Level was among that batch of songs as well.
Could be me just overanalyzing. I just feel like the second half of the record sounds more refined and refreshed for some reason

Peace in Place is definitely more akin to Tropic Rot than say Opposite of December but Tropic Rot and Versions definitely strayed pretty drastically from metalcore. I feel like this new album brings the aggression from Tear from the Red and touches on the atmosphere of Versions and Tropic pretty organically.
I suppose what I'm trying to say among all that is....I can definitely see someone enjoying Peace in Place that didn't really click with Versions or Tropic because of the lack of aggression in those albums

After spinning it multiple times over .. I can definitely say the standout tracks here are Weeping Tones, Bad Bodies, and Drifting Without End. Those three tracks are absolute masterpieces

Sure, just saying if it's been awhile on those previous two albums and you like Peace it's worth another shot. Primack's style that really came forward on Versions is very much present on the new one.
Also, Bad Bodies bodies

My god what a record, this is an absolute stunning masterpiece 17 years and nothing lost, just impressive performances and musicians at the pinnacle of their craft. As an elder millennial who grow up on The Opposite Of December and Tear from the Red.

Disgustingly great album. Primack and Hornbrook are killing it on every track, Ryan in particular is absolutely one of the great guitarists of our generation who doesn't get enough credit
