Nice review! Yeah I’ve been stuck between a 3-3.5 with this but those songs you mention in the third paragraph are about the only ones I seem to be coming back to. I liked the album before this a lot better

This isn't bad by any stretch, but it's not particularly interesting.

I feel crazy seeing all these comments of people retconning their last albums reception. I dug it but I don’t remember anyone praising it much. This feels much like a continuation to me, even in the album covers.

PT actually became one of my favorite SSPU records

So at least for me it's not as large a criticism of this album as it seems when I say this fell short. I still like this album enough, and it might grow on me just like PT did.

Scared Together isn't too far off mine, the switch up ALWAYS hypes me up!!

Just downloaded all 3 albums for my flight this afternoon. Will revisit them and see how they stack up. I am guessing: PT > This > WW, BUT who knows maybe my thoughts will have changed.

PT I liked around as much as their first 4 albums which I thought were all SIGNIFICANTLY better than WW.

WW is good!! i think the sentiment is just that it was a noticeable dip in quality from the albums prior and also a bit more straightforward at that.

I’ve listened to the first half and if the second half isn’t a massssssive increase in quality then this is a very disappointing album. There’s no spark, no hooks. It’s just very uninspired. Their last album was all the things that this isn’t.

The most cohesive SSPU album since Swoon. When it comes to the music, it's good… just good. No real stinker tracks.



Physical Thrills was better though. It's far from being as bad as Widow's Weeds, it's around the Better Nature ballpark for my ears. Light 3.5

I’ve listened to the full album now and it’s just meh. A bunch of cool moments and passages but the songs on the whole are lackluster.

I also don’t agree with ‘no real stinkers’. Wakey Wakey is horrendous.

This is the 3.5-iest thing ever because when I listen to it I think it's underrated but when I'm not listening to it I don't think of it at all to the point that I have to remind myself it came out. Not sure what that says but I still insist that this is pretty good!

I love the opening trio on this, but yeah.. the rest of the album unfortunately just isn't super memorable. Still like this generally more than WW. Not as much as the last ablum.
