> Is there any bands that make good folk metal anymore?
Eluveitie are still going strong, Tyr too. Wintersun if that counts. Korpiklaani, Alestorm and Ensiferum are still churning out their usual fare which is decent.

I've honestly never been huge on Ensiferum.

Early Ensiferum is killer, their later albums are still pretty good though. Not top of my list either, but they’ve worth a look.

Eluveitie are pretty much the best proper folk metal band still around.

Even their early stuff isn't all that great imo sadly. Eluveitie rules hard though.

I really do dig this more than Renegades, but maybe it was the shock of jamming Renegades after loving all of their prior stuff.

Yeah to be fair the more black metal folk-y projects are going well, like Saor, Panopticon, Finntroll etc. are still putting out great work.

Absolutely bro.

Certain types of folk style and it's fusion with certain metal subgenres can get very boring after a while.
I'm kinda tapped out of the likes of Ensiferum and Finntroll for example, but Moonsorrow and early Amorphis still hits the spot

That new Lamp of Murmuur is super mid, as was his previous album tbh. This one is at least fun at times for me.

I used to be high on Ensiferum and Equi but both have definitely fallen off lately. Moonsorrow still hits as hard as when I first heard them. I think they mentioned not too long ago on Instagram they had music news soon, so any year now!
