They're more like alternative metal/nu metal/post-grunge than industrial metal. They're certainly the heavy like Pantera but lack their sense of wit and so-simple-it's-clever objectivity.

Here's some funny trivia, A long time ago I read some comments online that some people actually joined the Navy or Army because they heard the song Awake in a Navy commercial. So the advertisement actually worked. Also the reason why they used Awake was because someone in the Navy was a fan of Godsmack and requested they used the song.

I loved this record as a kid and still do. Only Godsmack album really worth a fuck. Great heavy, dark, voodoo-y vibes here. If this record was released by another band the average would be much higher than 3.3.
