It makes me a little sad how little I care about this band now, since I used to love them. This shit is boring man.

Ill say it, I'd like to see Ramos in a band that doesn't suck. But also, he's too pretty to be in a band that doesn't suck.

Austin Archey is a beast...but at the same time a one trick pony - blasts blasts blasts blastbreakdown, rinse repeat. I loved AIRTN and really liked Pain Remains. On IFTEFWM I think they overstayed their welcome. It's just more of the same.

@murphA for me it’s more than orchestral themes. Will is way more into growls and using his high screams more fitting/ not just for the sake of it. Forevermore and Glen are two songs way more emotional than the stuff before. Beatdowns and song structure in Nameless Hymn and Death can take me are not how they wrote PR. Lionheart is quite new based on the uplift and elements they never used.
I think prison of flesh and oblivion are more PR songs and having that said prison of flesh lives rent free in my head and is an absolute banger for me.

This album was ok. I think they could come out with a really mean album, but they'll have to push themselves to lean into really aggressive song writing and scale back the cheesy symphonic black metal elements. I think when they're going hard on tracks like War Machine this album is at its best.

@acmolan i'm going to spin it again with everything you said in mind - thank you for outlining that, i appreciate that insight because, with songs like Lionheart, i didn't recognize that on the first few listens.

@Alk very much agree. in a hypothetical situation, i would love to see a 35-40 minute, 10 song album from Lorna that was styled like War Machine. tight, mean (as you said), and to the point. i would love to see what they could do with that.

Maybe these songs work better in a live setting - that's usually how I like my deathcore.
As is, everything is so GODDAMN LOUD. It feels like they're trying to dissuade me from analyzing the compositions and instead just give in to neanderthal vibes.

Well this was an album

Bet this great album art is completely fucking wasted on a mid album, good review

As a deathcore fan, not a bad album, just more of the same really, which I agree does feel like somewhat of a letdown. Album is not making my top 10 AOTY either. Oh well, it's still been an amazing year for music!

It's not doing much for me. Crazy talented musicians, but I'll stick to Whitechapel.

Fit For an Autopsy was pretty good… was that this year??

Last year I thought.

We gonna get new Dying Remains, Sanguisuggabog, Spite, Internal Bleeding, Despised Icon and Stillbirth this and next month tho.

New Sanguisugabogg kinda sucks sadly. But I hope y'all enjoy it lol.

I refuse to look at anything this band does im glad they are seeing popular sucsess and stuff but for me its also a bit of a "kindly fuck off from my feeds"

"There are also a ton of reused musical motifs or themes throughout this record. Guitar riffs and chugs could be blindly swapped between the two records and none would be the wiser to that slight of hand."
this is the whole issue with the album in a nutshell, cant tell anything apart from anything they've done, they sure can play their instruments i will give them that but what is the point if it all sounds the same.
