Definitely their best work since Mothership and my personal favorite at the moment since Happiness. This band is a guilty pleasure for me, but there’s something that’s kept me listening for over 15 years. I really enjoy Andrews vocals, I think Jon Mess is doing some of his best work, and I find the instrumentals incredibly tight. There’s some occasional cringe like the oh-ohs in the opener or the “heartbeat, heartbeat, heartbeat” in Midnight at McGuffys, but nothing egregious. I personally think Jon’s auto tune in Space Cow Initiation fits. I was never huge on Tillian and actually stopped listening after Acceptance Speech for years but was very excited when a new vocalist was announced and found Andrew to be a great addition (Sergio too). I went into this with high hopes and my expectations were satisfied. I know a lot of people are still upset with the band for letting Tillian back into the band and that’s fair, but I hope those who have ever enjoyed this band in the past can give this new incarnation a shot, because it sounds like, on and off the record, the band is having a great time and doing well (alcohol free now). Alright I’ll stop ranting now. Great review, Pos’d

This is pretty solid.
Starting with the negative, I wish Will Swan would drop his autotune rapping though. Space Cow starts off great, but the Clinton feature sucks. Andrew's voice is really good, but they layer it too much at times. Leave the grit man.
Otherwise this has some really great moments. Mess is super versatile and more of a frontman on this release. The drumming sounds really tight.

A Shoulder to Cry On is unironically a banger.

the other bad review is up for the nba megathread have fun there
I was also pleasantly surprised by this, I have been listening since the leak and it's grown a lot on me. haven't had excitement for DGD in a while so it was nice to be hyped up again. I saw them in may and it gave me a lot of hope for what's to come since they actually did the earlier parts of their discog again

I listened to this a few times back when it leaked a few months ago, but i havent listened to the official release yet. My main memory of it is that the part where Andrew, Will, and Jon are trading screams in the Stickler is a highlight and a good example of what I was hoping this whole album would be like.

Andrew just sings outside his range way too much on this. Would like to hear something more tailor made to his strengths.
