My guess is that they were going for a similar vocal style found on Gaslight Anthems '59 Sound' that has a slight reverb/echoey element to it. But they failed miserably

There are a few great moments and solid songs on here. But the mixing and vocal effects on this thing make it unlistenable.

The other thing thats pissing me off with this band is the lack of teeth or outrage about the current political climate. Wheres the fucking rage

lol Tim’s heart gave out over a decade ago

Tbf a lot of their bush era stuff still applies to things happening today. They're not gonna top siren song - appeal era so why not try a new approach?

TIL rise against is still making music

Saw them again for the first time in years yesterday. I was kinda weary for how they’d stack up these days. The sound wasn’t perfect but goddamn was it a great show. Crowd went absolutely nuts and you could tell the band had a lot of fun.

Plus they didnt play a single newer song. I think the newest song they’ve played was “Help is on the way”. Great setlist for a 50 minute show.
