I have a fetish for artists churning out mediocre works, going silent for years and coming back with a banger. This slaps

on my listening list as well, looking forward to it

Crazy that their last record was Immersion 15 years ago. Jamming now, love some Pendulum

it's definitely fun stuff but idk about anything more than a 3.3 or so, hmmm

Almost done with first listen. Wasn't expecting so many metal or metal-like tracks. Also felt even more land of the fat/omen -era Prodigy influence than before.
Still prefer their more dnb tracks though. Need to spin it some more.

Mercy Killing is absolute dogshit but apart from that I really dig this

Putting this as a 3 for now. Some good times for sure. Might raise this to a 3.5. Possibly too long?
Definitely better than In Shitico. Next on my list is trying again with Immersion

The problem with this band is the novelty-esque/feature songs are frequently the best, which makes albums a strange format for them. The bookends (and second song to some extent) are decent framing though.
Too long with too much average 'incidental theme music on a reality TV show' type stuff floating about. As ever, band are still an enjoyable listen despite the many reservations I have.

This band used to be my absolute favorite when I was a kid. Propane Nightmares was a life changer
Forgot they existed honestly but its cool they're back and still (apparently) good. Might check this

As an Aussie I guess I should know these guys more but haven't really listened to them before. I'll have to check out the back catalog, I had heard they are heavily influenced by The Prodigy. Unfortunately while I can hear that influence a bit here, there's nothing really comparable quality wise that comes near anything The Prodigy have done.
I can also definitely do without the whiny modern clean metalcore vocals in some of the tracks. I thought a couple of the songs were decent but yeah not something I'm going to go to regularly.

cmon lol that feature on Mercy Killing is embarrassing
their back catalogue thankfully doesn't have as much metalcore type stuff in it

Mercy Killing is sick yes

mercy killing is awesome, amazingly catchy everything, namely the lead synth and guitar crunch, but the version on this album is neutered. grab the non-qobuz Anima EP versions of it and silent spinner and substitute them. it really is painful hearing the album versions of those, brain strains to try to fill in the sonic blanks left.
bottom 3 are napalm (for being extremely barebones and having uncomfortable volume dipping on the sampled riff), cannibal (for constantly treading water and having no ups or downs), and archangel (for stupid lyrics that read like a first draft + poor glue between each catchy synth chorus — literally sounds like a demo that was rushed out the door for timely release)
but there is genuinely not a single bad song here

well I am glad some of you enjoy MK, it might be my least favourite song they ever put out. don't want soundcloud emo rap in Pendulum lol
Archangel is sick btw top 3 on here

Except for the interludes. There's literally no reason for them to exist
