Long Ride Home is gorgeous, that one is up there for me as well! Definitely agree with the Manchester Orchestra vibes on the I Saw the Mountains, I feel like a lot of that era of indie and folk stuff really influenced the songwriting for a good chunk of this album.

I especially love the lyrics across this thing. The language she uses is unexpectedly vivid and powerful.

Yeah both Cyrus sisters killed it this year.
I thought this was just another folk album I got carried away with, but this is actually getting pretty widespread critical acclaim.

Oh damn this has got a Fleet Foxes feature on it, gotta check this out. I remember enjoying her last album quite a bit.

Always rated Noah.
There's some really, really beautiful songs in here (first two, New Country, Long Ride Home, Love is a Canyon) but it's all a little samey in the end. Good background music, elevated by some huge highlights. It's gud.

Great write-up Sowing. I’m digging most of this. Long Ride Home is probably my current favorite. I think Way Of The World should have been omitted, don’t care for that one at all and sounds out of place.

Thanks EoinCofa. There are so many amazing songs here, and even the ones that I'm not as high on still carry a beautiful atmosphere about them. I actually really appreciate Way of the World -- it's lyrically pretty touching and the upbeat tempo helps diversify what is generally speaking a pretty mellow record. Overall, I still think I Saw The Mountains is the best song here, although Long Ride Home is right there with it.

Also, I think I'm upping Man in the Field to a 9/10 or top 4 song here. It's so simple, but so stunning.

It's beautifully done Slex. Not sure it'll do enough artistically for you, but it's got that simply elegant country thing going. Plus maybe a more stately National-esque atmosphere? Either way I'm pretty convinced this would be bigger if it weren't for her last name.
