I don't think this album rips off In the Court.

This album is awful. It IS like a ripoff of ITCOTCK, I don't know how anyone couldn't hear that. Problem is, the songs are nowhere near as good, and are really kind of bad actually. In the Court is one of my favorite albums but this one is just plain uninspired and forgettable. This Message Edited On 01.13.09

This is like a shorter, easier to swallow version of In The Court.

The title track on this was what got me into KC a long time ago, I've not heard the rest though. Shame its not up to par with ITCOTCK =/

This is a great album. Saying this is just like In the Court of the Crimson King is like saying Red sucks because all the songs are heavy just like 21st Century Schizoid man (they're not). Pictures of a City has a badass riff and is one of the earliest uses of double bass I've heard in a rock album. Cadance and Cascade isn't meant to be an amazingly original song, it's relaxing and that's why it's good. Peace - A theme is a good break in the album with very good acoustic guitar. Cat food is fucking fantastic, get over it. Devil's Triangle may be a bit throw away but it's evil as hell. All 3 "Peace" songs tie the album together perfectly.

FRIPP DOES NO WRONG EVER....

Except maybe when he does the exact same thing with Belew for several years

Underrated and under-listened by a number of people who've randomly rated it, I bet.

Nice, JT! Album is a treat and it deserves at least a 4 IMO. The 12 mins long psychotic and merciless bolero of Hell ''Devil's Triangle'' is undoubtedly the hardest track to get into but once it's done, we realize it's way superior than the lenghty improvs found on both ITCOTCK (Moonchild), Starless and Bible Black (s/t) and Red (Providence). So I invite those who rated it less than a 4 to give another spin. A serious one this time.

Indeed, Devil's Triangle absolutely destroys Moonchild (the only weak track on ITCOTCK).
