“Mike started screaming after I sent him some youtube videos on how to scream properly LOL, he had never done it before and then he figured it out and it was like this whole new tool box for us to play with, a lot of fun.”
I definitely noticed how good the screams sound on this record. He did a great job.

Yeah they're like the perfectly abrasive lol. Not too overbearing.

this is a beautiful review, I am so psyched to hear how a heavier Out of Service sounds

also shoutout to the Cure vibes on “Pv”. So far every time I listen to this I find something new to appreciate which is a good sign of longevity.

This album art is incredibly similar to Treading Ever So Deeply by A Dozen Black Roses.

That'd be a show that would get even my old ass out 😂

Haha!i went to their last show in 2018 after Shrine came out. One of the opening bands was Gatherers, who I ended up loving as well. I’d actually say that the last Gatherers record was a big influence on this.

Awesome review.
Ground Beneath Me was my entry to OOS, but something about Reflections and Refractions Vol. 1 really stuck with me and it ended up being my favorite album of 2023. The style here is actually more aligned with my typical listening tastes and it's pulled off flawlessly. Still digesting, but this will likely end up in my top 5 on the year. The 1-2 punch of Ripples and JJ Lenoir is the highest of the many highs on this for me right now, but it's honestly just rock solid all the way through. Beyond what's mentioned already, hearing influence from Brand New, Thursday and Thrice

Honestly surprised no one has mentioned Jesse Lacey helped on this album. They're huge fans of Brand New.

Good band.

I don't think I heard anything about Lacey being involved, if that's true.
