This album was pretty good but bad for In Flames standards...songs like "The Quiet Place", "Evil in A Closet", "A Touch of Red" and "My Sweet Shadow" are very good but some of the songs were awful...hit and miss cd...my least favorite but still good in compared to music standards, a 1.5 or 2 in In Flames standards

I have such mixed feeling on this album, I absolutely love some songs like The Quiet Place, My Sweet Shadow, and Evil In a Closet (especially this song), but then there are some songs that I cannot stand like Dial 595 escape and Like You Better Dead. It's kind of hit or miss on this album.

And I thought I was the only person that liked his album... haha

I totally agree with you, Evil In A Closet is one of the best songs ever.

I've heard The Quiet Place and My Sweet Shadow and both were very good songs. It does irritate me that The Quiet Place just sounds like a Korn song done with far more talent and some good synthesizers, though.

Judging by The Quiet Place, it's obvious they have directly ripped off Korn's sound and that's stupid because Korn sucks ***. His voice was embarrassingly similar to Jonathan Davis and the guitar even has the same tone as old Korn. They have some weird guitar effects in that song like Korn used to do.

My Sweet Shadow sounded less like a Korn song though. It was awesome. This Message Edited On 05.07.07

This album was pretty bad. Their earlier stuff was so much better. They went from like melodic death metal to metalcore pretty much.

Its closer to Nu-Metal than Metalcore...and im not dissing it, im just saying. Come Clairty is closer to Metalcore, tho...alot more Hardcore influcence. I like CC a bit better than this...btw I like Metalcore so its not an insult, just change of direction of In FlamesThis Message Edited On 02.08.07

I think it's the production that lets this album down, because on their live dvd they play STYE in it's entirety and it sounds so much better.

Yea, what Pebster said. This is closer to nu-metal, but it still isn't.

I really don't hear that much metalcore in CC either. His vocals do sound kinda metalcore at times on CC, which disappointed me, but the actual music on CC doesn't really show any hardcore influence. This Message Edited On 02.08.07

There are some good songs on here but as a whole this record barely keeps my attention.

Yea I guess it is closer to nu-metal, now that I think of it.

Hmm i guess being a newcomer to IN Flames i wouldn't be able to quiet completley understand too much about critical ratings. I personally like this more a jam-to album. This is a pretty good review, although it seems to be from a softer perspective which i appreciate. The thing with this album is its not consistent, they took a chance again with this one(not the best for original fans). I personally feel if you want to headbang that Touch of Red would have been that perfect song if they would have constucted it a little better. My favs from this album is a toss-up between Bottled and Like You Better Dead. All in all good job with the review dude. This Message Edited On 03.04.07

It's closer to industrial and suckdom.

Except Evil In A Closet, that song owns my soul.

This is the only IF cd i don't own yet. Would you say it's worth getting? I have the song "the quiet place" on my ipod, annd it's pretty good, but wat about the rest of the album? I've gotten the picture that "evil in a closet" is amazing.

Evil In A Closet is the most underrated In Flames song, it's one of the more ballad like, like Come Clarity was. If you liek The Quiet Place then you'll love the CD for the most part since TQP is kinda weak overall for the CD. My Sweet Shadow = best.
