Not a 5, and he kind of can't even slightly carry a tune anymore, but good review.

You must have not seen too many fans then. A few lists and defending them against all the 14 year olds on the site, does not really make me their biggest fan. Thanks anyway though.

I guess that should come as no surprise, but sadly it does.

Is that some kind of lame comment about Dylan being a sell-out?

And dylan has never been a terrible singer. His voice is just as much an instrument to him as anything else. He can change it to suit the song...(check out Nashville Skyline), and these days yeah his voice has been beaten down by father time. But it just makes him sound as wise as his lyrics made him sound in his younger days.

El Goodo. Congrats on the feature. It is a nice feeling. You are a true die hard. I like that, but trying to explain Dylan to some, well, some just aren't going to get it. I don't know why. And all this focus on his voice or guitar playing or calling him old is way off the mark. Dylan is finishing where he began. And thats a great thing, IMO. Incredible and astounding songwriter. The best ever in popular music. Jewish folk singer from Hibbing, NYC days, singing in the feilds with the migrant workers, turning rock n roll political, bearing the slings and arrows of both the folk and the rock crowd way back then. Near death motorcycle accident, singing to a dying Woodie Guthrie his own songs in his hospital bed. Bob's story is poetic and beautiful, and I think it will far out live his naysayers. Fact is, it already has. God bless Bob Dylan. Really. And I'm not even a believer This Message Edited On 09.04.06

Dylan is no sellout. And even if he was, who cares? The man has given so much art and good music to the world. Bob has been taking that crap ever since he plugged in a an electric guitar at Newport. Or making the Live At Budakon [sic] album. People have been calling him a sellout for three decades. Hell, some said it when he put out Blood On The Tracks. His Christian albums. Bob is cool, a true independent. You know he and Jacob played a private corporate gig several years ago. They walked away with a half million dollars each. Bob never claimed to be spokesperson for anything. And he has always said it. We should all be so lucky to make our living as musicians...This Message Edited On 09.04.06

Well being respected for his obvious contributions to music aside, I do believe he sold out. I do not know who you could call a sell out if you can not call him it. However, with that said, I bought this album, and will continue to buy his work. Sell out or no sell out, he made and still makes great records. Makes little difference to me either way honestly. Dylan has made some of the greatest songs in modern history, made some of the best albums ever put together, and has written lyrics that the best poets would only wish they could write, he frankly can do whatever the hell he wants to.This Message Edited On 09.04.06

Well the obvious, that infamous electric guitar, that im sure everyone knows about. Other things such as selling an album threw only Victoria Secrets department stores years back. Playing private shows for money on more then one occasion I believe. Things I can think of right off the top of my head, but I’m sure there are more. I’m not trying to hate on the guy, it just is what it is, call it how you see it.
