sorry Steak I'm not gonna pretend TDP was anything special and idk why Jacob wanted to be Mike Hranica so bad in that album ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don't think you've ever heard Mike Hranica if you thought Jacob sounded remotely close to that on TDP. But okay if you wanna hear his vocals drowned in bad effects and lame deftones/muse worship then okay I won't drag you down

I mean I can make an entire video on vocal similarities or you can just go back and listen to TDP again

All you proved was they both use fry screams, their tones are distinct! Not to mention all the instrumental differences lol you are still insane to me for that take

most metalcore worth listening to these days heavily hinges on their vocalist and whether or not they're worth listening to, I think Jacob takes center stage in this album in their best way so far

This in fact is not better than Ohms. The djent tone on the guitars on this album have zero personality and this all feels cobbled together from a bunch of influences who did it better. A pastiche of weird Limp Bizkit-era nu metal and too many effects meant to hide what feels like a very lifeless album.

Agree with Christbait here--I'm halfway through this after going through The Dark Pool and it sounds like a completely different band in the worst way possible. The Deftones worship here is off the charts and there's no personality to be found. At least their first LP had character with its more consistent ethereal nuances.

Good god, what is "CRUSH" doing here? It's not *bad* per se, but this Sleep Token copycat song should have been left out completely.

This whole album is painfully mid.

I had decently high hopes for this after how much I liked Obsession and Tongues. Unfortunately am pretty underwhelmed after the first listen. Agree that this feels awkward and poorly arranged overall.

Also did not like how the re-recording of Obsession was a solid two beats slower.
