Drummer puts in work but sounds like he's playing on a completely different album at times. Also that solo on Evenfall needed another take.

Everyone needs to go and check out the debut album "The Great Architect" by Subterranean Lava Dragon. One of the best metal albums of the year so far that nobody knows about. Trust me, you need to hear it!

not an interesting band now or ever

it's def a playlist band for me. their best 7 or 8 songs are welcome visitors in my DM mix.

I've always been more of a Ten Sepiroth kinda guy

But if they made an album explicitly of that and Anticosmic Overload it would be their best album by a mass landslide

It's weird, their last album was good on a first listen but aged really poorly when I tried listening to it again.

I tried this new one a few weeks ago and I can't remember a single thing about it

yehhhh the last one is a fun listen once through but is too plasticky and muenzer's leads sound a lot more mechanical than on cosmo or omnivium. i think akroasis is my fave atm cus the leads have a cool flavour and the sound is a bit more organic

I really only dug Cosmogenesis of their albums. Most others were somewhat sufferable but unremarkable and stale. Won't bother with this one, especially when learning that it is leaning towards melo death.

I don't enjoy this quite as some of their other releases, but I think I may just be a simpleton with bad taste because I still enjoyed this quite a bit and was surprised to see it rated this low. I get the dislike for the simpler more melodeath elements, but for whatever reason, that still worked for me too.
