Nice...

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm gonna go change that part before the next wave of Norma Jean fanboys arrive with their new album. This Message Edited On 09.11.06

"The Human Face, Divine" "I Used To Hate Cell Phones But Now I Hate Car Accidents," "Creating Something Out Of Nothing Only To Destroy It" and "Face:Face" are key from this album.

I love this album. It's a lot better than "Redeemer" in my opinion. "Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste" is a superb song, as is "Face : Face."

I am absolutely baffled at the amount of bad reviews this album is getting here. It is a piece of metaphysical genius, serving as a warning and also a finger in the chest of 90% of hardcore which is just lame, or technical for the sake of being technical. This cd is not watered down and it is as horrifying as heaven.

This definitely deserves better than a 1.5. Face : Face, Memphis..., and I Used to Hate... should grant it at least a 3.5. It did for me anyway.

1.5? Are you kidding me? I've heard a lot worse at a 1.5. I'd give it a 3 or 3.5...

"They also seem to be the definition of a one-trick pony."

How does that exactly work out? This is only their first album.. and they've released two other albums, which are even better then this album... least I think so.

"no clean vocals on the album."

So, since when does a band have to have them?

"Bless The Martyr and Kiss The Child was a disappointing record. While they never really showed signs of great talent or musicianship, I expected a fresh, new sound. Instead, I got a sea of inharmonious noise."

What do your expectations have to do with the quality of the album? It is what it is... and that's true since it's their first release. And there aren't too many bands that have norma jean's sound anyhow... cept maybe Botch. : P but I dunno, unless you were expecting something like luti-criss? they sort of sound like em anyway from the songs I've heard.

I personally find this album quite enjoyable.

Obviously Botch-inspired, but it does bring some new stuff to the table.

Compared to most of the generic Metalcore garbage out these days, this CD is pretty tight.

Ok so musically, maybe they aren't as technical or as amazing as perhaps (insert one of your favorite metal bands here), but they definitely tear it up live. Go to a concert of their's and tell me you don't want to punt children. And if you don't want to punt children, that's cool. And if you hate their music...then sweet. But unfortunately for everyone, no one has an impeccable musical taste. Although, there are a lot of arrogant assholes that think they do and think they know everything about music...yet they find themselves stuck in their rooms masturbating furiously and not making music or money or playing for large crowds (which apparently, probably means you suck ...if you draw a legitimate fan base). I am amazed at how opinionated people bash the shit out of each other when no ones going to change their mind on either side. I will listen to my Norma Jean and like it...and that's all I can say. If you don't like it...awesome!
