@Teal These days i am more of a Gored guy, since i listen to Loathe a lot in the gym, so a shoegazey affair is not what i am looking for atm

Jawbreaker reminds me of You Think You're (John Fucking Lennon).

reminds you of it? they nearly ripped it off. I was going to accept that one song as paying homage to glassjaw, but there's too many similarities with other songs that it's distracting.

verse of "to live in a different way" sounds nearly identical to "Grace" by Jeff Buckley.

bassline in "anemoia" sounds nearly identical to "How to disappear completely" by Radiohead.

it's not a big deal I guess, more so just observations but I'm curious if anyone else hears what I'm hearing. it put me off from enjoying the album more. like be more original in the songwriting please lol

That's fair. I definitely see the Jawbreaker similarities.

Honestly this just kinda rings like a snoozier Thornhill, solid even great at times but a bit inessential

So they re ripping of a lot of awesome artists at once

I hear the similarities fs...but the outcome is pretty cool...don t feel it as a rip off...that s pretty unfair on the genre tbh, specially when you mix so many things

this is cool but they need to decide if they want to be glassjaw/deftones or an indie band lol

and yeah they straight up ripped off several famous riffs, the john lennon one sounds like they just combined it with engine 9

They definitely wear their influences on their sleeves, but I feel like it's so well executed here - and the influences are diverse enough - that I'm willing to overlook that criticism for a first album release from a young band still growing into who they are. I'm even more intrigued with what a second full length might offer musically.

I totally get the comparisons to Loathe but this band is way better than Loathe

I find it super relaxing/uplifting even when screaming. Staying in heavy rotation

lol yeah had to shut this off after jawbreaker. already extremely tired of this sound as is but that's one of the most blatant rip offs i've ever heard.

Good stuff here.

I've had "Soft Glow" on repeat almost the entire week.

What a mind-bending and enthralling sonic journey. The heavy elements are integrated beautifully, the vocal range, wild guitars and spacey interludes are 100% my cup of tea.

I am simply blown away by this release, the meandering parts were jarring at first listen, upon 2nd listen it was clear what they were trying to accomplish and they have succeeded with flying colors.

It hits all of these notes of 90s grunge/alt-rock, shoe-gaze, brit-pop and bombastic Deftones like moments, it's utterly insane.

It's early in 2025 and I already knew this was going to be a good year for music, but holy shit am I surprised at releases coming out of nowhere, if you enjoy almost anything from "The Wave" or like shoe-gaze/nu-gaze/grunge-gaze etc this will not disappoint.

Solid 5, honestly my first of the year. What a fantastic journey this album is.

First third of this album is fantastic but it kind of becomes tedious 2/3rds of the way through the runtime. Still a great album though.

Chorus of take.one.minute is fucking incredible also

I love to hear that Forbidden! Devotion is such an unexpected jam to open up the album. I'm enjoying the more positive lyrical approach here as well, despite it being a little idealistic at times.

“Not going to give this a rating because I didn’t listen to it all, but I turned it off during the first song because it wasn’t interesting to me. Glad others are into it, it’s just not for me“

I wish I was this cool lmao
