Parasignosis is still best but this thing is a beast.

Haven't jammed this one nearly enough for a final verdict. After the first few spins, I'm inclined to agree that Parasignosis is the better album, mostly on account of its shorter runtime. Given the complexity of the music at hand, that assessment could easily change over time.

The Protanthrofuge is a jam but

This is fantastic but it does blend together after a while

I definitely need to check this out judging by the comments here.

yeah, I would definitely advise listening to this in full as it just magnifies its shortcomings. You don't wanna be that 'well oiled' when being confronted with the rather marvellous closing pair. I was expecting a less relentless assault given the runtime, maybe more eerie ambience or something. It's good, but I prefer it in the smaller doses (as recommended)

The length kind of works in its favor imo. It turns away from the idea of a simple list of songs into this labyrinthine riff ambience that reels you in slowly.

I've been finding success stopping before the last 2 songs and picking them up on a dedicated listening session.
How do you guys feel about the production? I feel like it could have been just a tad cleaner, feel like quite a bit gets lost in the 'mud'.

low 4 for me, really great stuff. sometimes reminds me of dissonant death metal, sometimes classic death and even has some black metal tastes here and there. very appropriate vibe but not quite on the level of the greats such as ulcerate
