wow her screaming is not good
nobody is dropping the ball as hard as mike though he sounds terrible here. casuality is painful

I like the direction they took Casualty. Super Hunting Party but 80s alt metal instead. Cant remember which few vocalists Mike is emulating, but definitely feels done exactly on purpose

i wasnt on board with this incarnation once i found about all the scientology stuff anyway but i didnt think this album was like, *actually* gonna be this bad. i enjoyed maybe like a couple melodies here and there and that's it. there is not a single track i enjoyed all the way through (album closer is probably the closest to anything being a highlight here). definitely their worst

"kinda stinks so far outside of Heavy is the Crown and The Emptiness Machine."
think there was one more track i liked towards the end but yeah those two are proper butt rock bangers. closers pretty good, feels like the only song where shinoda is a net positive

"proper butt rock bangers" is a spot on description. I was slightly excited for this after these singles but some of this is so weak.
"casualty is painful" It really is. Mike sounded so lame in the verses.

Surprised by how little of an impact this had on me.
Poppy dropping a far superior album that does a lot of the same stuff on the same day doesn't help.
Meh

Poppy's album is good, but i wouldnt say she's doing the same stuff. poppy doesn't sound anything like LP lol

Mike certainly gives Emily a run for her money as far as offensively bad vocals go
Emily's screams genuinely hurt my ears but Mike has Kip Dynamite energy that gives second hand cringe

Poppy definitely has a bit of LP in her DNA. Obviously not totally the same thing, but the connections are there
|

Yeah Poppy's new album kinda stole the thunder from this one in a big way. Some enjoyable cuts here but it's kinda struggling to figure out what it wants to be. Emily is mostly excellent here so there's that.

The Music video for two faced makes me bust a gut too
Go frame by frame and look at what each member is doing not just Emily's Ray gun homage and crotch grabbing but Mike putting his mug up to the camera like a grandparent on facetime and one dude even fails a guitar flip lmao
Unless it's some inside joke or a self parody but something tells me they actually just like the smell of their own shit

Just as I thought it would be. Emily’s Vox are fine, Mike is average as fuck. It’s too derivative of their past to the point of songs sounding like it’s invading the HT, Metoera and LT tracklists. What a shame. Chester was such a potent vocalist and you can FEEL that loss here.

Emily is a decent replacement to be sure, but yeah.... even with how awful One More Light was, his voice still leant some stakes that I feel are sorely missing here. There are some Mike sections here that are just painful. Cut The Bridge is one of the worst things they've ever done

Honestly Cut The Bridge and Overflow were my favs by miles. But everything is so forgettable and Good Things Go. I wanted Emily to SHUT THE FUCK UP and let Mike deal with this loss. Her voice was disruptive to what that song was trying to get across.
