Ok I lied and heard Nothing is Forever so far, that leads really well into "A Fragile Thing." which I thought was kinda a meh song. It really feels better after hearing the song before. The thing is I was looking a KFC dating game for the silliness of gaming and then I closed all my tabs on accident. I knew Alone would be the lead off so this is a really good starting line up. I wonder how good the power at track 4 is heh

Nice review!
Accurate ratings, zak!
Did not expect The Cure to drop an album with such quality in 2024 for some reason. Glad they proved me wrong because this is an impressive achievement

I think that’s part of the appeal. How good it actually is has surpassed expectations and it’s very comforting to know classic albums are still being made by the old guard.

Releasing it at the perfect time of year has also helped

You said it. Caught me completely off guard when i listened through it at work yesterday and had to listen to it again last night after work as well. Safe to say this will be regularly listened to this month

And of course they streamed whole 3 hour long concert on Youtube with every song from new album! Legends.

My first spin of this was incredibly underwhelming, and I didn't like the production at all. But, with every subsequent spin, it's gotten better. Sign of a great album, going to continue to let this stew.

not sure if its just me but and nothing is forever is way too early in the tracklist here. wouldnt have minded it and the penultimate swapping
also that song + i can never say goodbye + endsong are my big 3 i think

Hmm no I can definitely get behind that, although idk what I'd have had in second place instead? I Can Never Say Goodbye is my third from the middle tracks, but this is all about the bookends rn

You know I love I/O bubs but this has more weight, more oomph. Resonates.
Warsong is an absolute blinder.

'And Nothing is Forever' is probably my favourite placing on the album - the opener is incredible but very trademark Disintegration era Cure and then the intro for that song comes in like a breath of fresh air clearing the room for what's next. The album could easily have just continued the same feel as the opener but I think it needed something early that's 'lighter' and less typically The Cure musically at that point. Dunno, works for me.
