Solid review.
Their debut was as far as I got back in high school, and yes, was absolutely my moms fav back then. Definitely a step up from everything in their discog but outside of Chris' personal context, pretty mid. Has 'Sound of Madness' feel to it but without it's precision. Or an Alter Bridge (at times) minus the same.

I honestly haven't listened to a single song from this band outside of "Crashed" from the debut, and that was solely from its association with Bionicle
Guess this might be worth giving a shot? I can always get behind some good turn-your-brain-off-rock

The self-titled Daughtry record is underrated as hell. It’s not a masterpiece by any means but do y’all remember how he got FIVE hit singles out of that thing??

I was really impressed by the singles coming into this. And this review gives me enough push to press play. Let's see how it goes.
Dudes always been insanely talented and was one of my favorite vocalists as a young'n.

Yeah this maybe isn’t a 4.5, but it’s really great.

Cyco's Skillet comment is on the nose. I was trying to pinpoint it.

This dude really needed to get in a band like Alter Bridge or Shinedown

Great review!
I loved the singles, Artificial is a great radio-rock tune and Nervous an awesome ballad. Looking forward to hearing the rest even if there are only a couple songs I haven't heard yet.

just a couple things when i was reading, too. really good review though. seems like this grabbed you on a personal level.
"But then a few things happened. Daughtry left RCA, released the independent return to form Dearly Beloved, and the band's namesake frontman lost his mother and daughter in the span of week, the latter to suicide."
need an "a" in between "of" and "week"
""The Dam" discards this glimmer of sunlight, but compensates by serving up what might have a case for being the song of Daughtry's career. This one boasts of an untrammeled ferocity not seen [i[anywhere[/i]"
just need to close this out [i[anywhere[/i]
