"Breather would slap if they removed that dumb voice over. Not everyone should be Fred Again.
"Baddy is a cool track, but tell me it doesn't sound like this:" theres similar elements but that song sounds like a college kid's FL Studio session structurally while Jamie has a way more refined sense of build"
Yeah Jamie XX builds stuff really well and Breather is probably the best example of that here

Listened to half of this today. It's house music for people that don't listen to house music. That summer song was a banger though. Kinda reminds me of when King Gizzard do metal. For people that don't listen to it, it's amazing, but for people who are into the genre, theres a hundred other artists that have done it much better.

Don’t be an arse.
I was genuinely listening to House music in 1988
This album is class.

Yea idk if I can get behind that fully. Baddy is such a nice callback to 90s Chicago house, I just wish it was a bit longer and a little more expansive instrumentally. Some of the vocals are my biggest gripe. Love some cheesy house vocals but here not is much.

I'm a little surprised everyone seems to like baddy so much. It doesn't really stand out much compared to the rest here for me.

"You're giving me strong torso"
That quote with the little laugh after it makes me cringe every time I hear it

Haha I get that. I don't mind it personally

I honestly zone out of lyrics on edm, like I straight up do not give a fuck what they're saying 99% of the time. It's like black metal the vocals are just there to be another part of the instrumentals.
But the talking bits? Man they get me sometimes. Why is it always so awkward lmao

Yeah the talking is much harder to ignore. I also don't mind complete nonsense in lyrics, but it's hard to ignore if it's just talking.
The worst is these tracks I get recommended through Spotify sometimes which are these ambient tracks with a British sounding gentleman talking over it saying all kinds of "profound" things about life, the cosmos and being in the current moment. Who likes that stuff?

I think any track that features Robyn would be a much better song is she was removed from it.

Could’ve gone to Alexandra Palace tonight to see this fella but I have to be up at silly bollocks o’clock tomorrow morning which has put an end to that.
Shame.
