I think that fatigue factor Doof mentions is getting me a bit but I also feel like the chord progressions, melodies, lyrics, and song structures are for the most part a distinct shade or two weaker than Walker’s usual standard. Still very good of course, this is the kind of stuff that has a pretty high floor for me and I do appreciate that it’s relatively more concise than usual (it’s certainly Walker’s friendliest front to back listen), but nothing hits me as hard as the peaks on any of his other stuff I know. “The Undivided Truth” gets close though.

The transition and then coda of Feathers hits me too Boney, and the chorus of Astoria

Bloke comes across as a bit of a soppy bollocks without the foundation or gumption to channel it.

As usual 40 Watt Sun required 4 or 5 listens for it to really start working for me, really enjoying it now

Yes, I didn’t even listen that attentively for my first two or three listens…but once I got to listen five or six I was smitten again.

He’s got the magic making formula.

Maybe I just need to wait for the autumn depression to settle in… These DC summers linger too long for my liking.

@Zak

Jam Watching From a Distance from his band before this Warning

Channels the 5 stages of grief upon the dissolutions of an extremely meaningful relationship

If that doesn't get ur feels riled up you are a lifeless HUSK

The vinyl FINALLY arrived and it's all I've been playing recently. Very close to slapping a 5 on this, it's a beautiful album.

Album is a solid refinement of their style that maybe needed one more killer track to be rated a 5 like the two previous ones.
