Caught them opening for Thursday and the music was super genericore

I’m amazed that everybody on this website knows Keith personally.

“ but when 4 of the 5 people in the band are saying you’re the asshole, you’re probably the asshole.”

Many Eyes is the music equivalent of that one squidward SpongeBob meme, where Keith Buckley is watching Better Lovers having fun and releasing good music and is just like “hey guys, I’m still here too!” except nobody cares

Or the one of Mike from Breaking Bad yelling at Walt, but it’s us yelling at Keith
“We had a good thing going you stupid son of a bitch! We had Jordan! But you just had to blow it up! You and your pride, and your ego!”

“Not alienating all of your lifelong friends and breaking up one of the best hardcore bands of the last 20 years? Idk, I haven’t entirely figured it out myself tbh.”
To be frank, if they are the cause or at least the enablers, alienating them is exactly what you do actually lol
However, it doesn’t forgive this album being lame

@nash
If that’s the case, then totally, but I don’t really see Andy or his own brother clowning him for being sober.

No doubt. And besides, the “wholesome” thing to do anyway would be to back out and let ETID continue which he didn’t do. I mean I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but I agree with “if the rest of the band thinks you’re an ass hole…” sentiment

I really like this album (and I like Better Lovers too).

thoughtcrimes stomps this and BL tbh

I’d say we wait for the BL LP but yes thoughtcrimes is most definitely the best out of all of them

I didn’t mean to make a jab at sobriety. I respect it. The way ETID was handled sucks and this album sucks. Keith is probably to blame for both
|
| |
Etid didn’t have a weak link. Now they’re gone and we have two shit bands from the ashes. Awesome.
|
| |
yeah this band sucks but better lovers also sucks
almost makes me wonder if etid broke up at the right time and were bound to run out of ideas bc boy do none of them have any at all anymore
|
| |
so the guitarist was already kicked out before the release of this lol? doesn't seem to bode well, still going to listen

"BOILED CHICKEN", HAHA. Damn that is a zinger for sure. This album is horrible for the most part.

“boy do none of them have any at all anymore”
This is what has me scratching my head. Like all of them simultaneously ran out of good writing ideas or something lmao. Like even ignoring the music here which Keith probably didn’t write as much of, the lyrics are terrible and uninspired. And then besides the EP the new BL tracks are so bland
|
| |
See I find that hard to believe because radical was so fucking awesome. And Etid was like the most consistent band in metalcore…
I think what we might be seeing here is two brothers, with egos. Who’s band just dissolved which was hard for everyone involved, they’re trying to one up each other and not really focused on the art
