I made it approximately one minute into this and promptly turned it off. Don't have time to listen to crap albums just to rate them anymore

First few tracks give me high hopes, i already know that Bordacchini will be completely unnecessary 80% of the time though. Will listen to this in full later, i expect this to be better than their last 3 albums

Oh man, I don’t know whether to check this out of morbid curiosity or not. I feel like 90% of symphonic-anything is reliably garbage so I avoid it for the most part.

It did the job as perfectly adequate background music when I was writing, at the very least.

Album is definitely the bands weakest output. It has grown after six or seven listens for me though. There’s a few areas where the vocals aren’t great, unfortuntately the first song after the intro is the worst in this regard and the rest of the album has to work harder to redeem itself after that. This is echelons below the quality of Agony which is in my opinion one of the most underrated metal albums ever. Some of the passages of symphonic compositions of that album are unmatched.
Fleshgod are indeed a niche band, a lot of death metal listeners can’t dig the symphonic parts but a lot of people who like symphonic metal seem to be overwhelmed by the unrelenting death metal passages. Certainly bands like Rotting Christ, Therion and Septicflesh seem easier to digest for most. I love this band though and there is enough here for me to have some replay value although the oracles-labrynth era is without a doubt the bands best offerings.

Yeah it's not a crazy groundbreaking album but 1.5 is jokes lmao this is a fun little listen.
King is actually one of the best blends of symphonic and heavy music I've ever heard, metal bands using symphonic/operatic elements sound phoned in as fuck to me most of the time but I was really impressed with the quality on that record. Their releases since have been a lot more whatever but still a good time.

it's fine, had some fun moments, other times I droned out, production has always been pretty bad with these guys too agreed.

I don't think I've liked a symphonic leaning band until I jammed a full Emperor album this year

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED and still really enjoy symphonic bm but this overproduced garbage blows.
