Yea, Fishies is also a favorite KG for me. Awesome album

But honestly, most of their jams bleed together after a while. They're a very 3.0 to 4.0 band

I def prefer them more when they're doing their own thing over aping some other style that's been done to death (their thrash is soo mid), but this is so corny it grew a second cob

gizzard pretending to be a metal band is painful yes

as is gizzard overcompensating for their butt boring hooks with microtonal phrasing. boring band for a boring audience of rym frontpage casuals and bunk stoners

I took a walk with this and found it pleasant enough - I don’t listen to a ton of KG anyways outside of Fishies, Polygondwonaland and a few loose tracks here and there.

Seeing them live is honestly what fully sold me on the band, so awesome! I'm spoiled living in CO and this will be my 3rd Red Rocks show.

Oh awesome! I watched some of the red rocks marathon shows. That performance of magma is fucking ridics. I saw them a few times when they were just starting to blow up and had two drummers. It was more of a wall of noise and energy kind of thing, which was cool but my god, over the last few years they really honed their live show into something world class.

Fun review!

Fishies is fun and I enjoy Silver Cord despite it being pretty reviled or at least- divisive af. The extended mix is a jam. I mean, c’mon, “Set” is so damn good. I’ve been enjoying this album a lot! I’d say it’s more a 3.7 than 4, but it’s been my go-to album to chill out past couple days. I’m a teacher and today was my first day of classes and it’s certainly the first thing I put on when I got in my car lol
