What's your favorite ambient album though dude? I've seen a couple 4.5's from you within the genre but no 5 yet
I can't say I have a definitive favourite but this, Grouper - A I A, Mathias Grassow - Transpersonal and Witxes - Sorcery/Geography are all contenders for my favourite ambient album.

i finally have listened to copia enough that i've started to branch out to other eluvium albums. listened to this this morning, but tbh i zoned out for most of it. not that that's a bad thing. sometimes thats my goal when listening to ambient, but unfortunately it leaves me in a position where i can't remember anything about hte album. i will check again (and again) though.

Oh really? Cool. Well I hope it grows it on you with repeated listens. I don't think this clicked with me on first listen either actually, except the song Taken which I loved immediately and is still one of my favourite ambient pieces.

It can go either way for me with ambient. Sometimes I listen to an ambient release and I connect with it pretty much straight away, other times I hear the potential and know that I need to listen to it when I'm in a certain mood to fully appreciate it. However if I get absolutely nothing from it on first listen I'll probably just discard it.

i would probably be the same way if i actually devoted all my attention to the music, but i mostly only listen to ambient at work when i'm doing other things. usually when i'm out of work i try to listen to other music that isn't acceptable for work. every now and then i'll put on an ambient album when i'm doing nothing but its pretty rare
