Yeah lol have def been there, half-life of top 40 lolcow albums on here ain't gettin any longer either
I do kinda see what u were driving at tho, ID's success feels very emblematic of how the industry has been handling rock radio programming for the past decade or so. Just hit my ear funny, like idk who "the Last Dinner Party" even is lmao

If one of you fancy science bitches can successfully argue this is a 5, I believe you become fully able to practice law in Alabama and Mississippi

@kompys Buffed out some of the awkward bits of the review I think, the intro now should, hopefully, get at the idea that indie rock does a lot of things and is still relevant, and that Imagine Dragons trendchase in indie rock and present palatalized versions of ideas that are more challenging/interesting/meaningful in their original context. Ironically enough, The Last Dinner Party are more relevant than King Gizzard, they've got twice as many monthly spotify listeners, but they are not a sput thing tbh. I suppose I could have mentioned that I compare all three to Imagine Dragons because I find all three entirely anemic???? hmm, whatever, fuck this album, thanks for the constructive criticism, and big love yo

This is the type of album that isn't deserving of so many good words strung together to make coherent sentences.

"What's the point?"

yeah sure, I'll take the free objectivity boost
I looked at the billboard rock charts on a whim last night and felt a deep sense of malaise come over me as I did. I think literally the only good news was the new TSSF album being in the top half of the billboard 200. aside from that, hope is pretty much entirely lost.

"I don't believe yalls actually listened to this"
why would I bother listening to something that stands for the death of everything I love? everything this band does gets a 1 on principle.

"What's the point?"
Seriously though, what's the point of a review of an Imagine Dragons album? Might as well be reviewing styrofoam, or distilled water.

Actually the point is to farm engagement and this band has more listeners than anything else on this site so my cynical ass reviewed a soulless cashgrab 🥰

I hadn't listened to this band before so thought I'd give it a spin. Basically just seems like pop music for teenagers and kids? Not the absolute worst stuff I've heard. There's metalcore bands putting out worse music than this.

Can confirm, I don't want to listen to this but I'd rather listen to this than the new BMTH

Bad pop can be the same as bad metal. Bad metal is bad music just louder. Bad pop still makes money though
