I think my biggest issue here is actually Brit's vocals--aside from his usual uncleans, which I've always liked, he sounds downright terrible here when he tries doing cleans, mumble-growls, or shouting. It's bad when hearing Cody's cleans is actually a relief. I liked a few cuts here--Tombstone, Blur, Hellbent--but overall this is a mess and feels oddly robotic. Huge step down from Manic, which I actually liked a lot

Sweet, I've been inundated with quality metal for weeks. Time for some garbage lol. Provides perspective. Nice review.

Manic was actually passable and made me wonder if they were righting the ship. I'm not putting myself through this, thanks for doing it for us Tyler and reporting back

I enjoyed their first 3 releases, even Pressure! But this new album is so, so, soooooo bad I had to delete it from my library. Never going to revisit it ever again it has no substance, no character, it's all over produced and over simplistic it hurts my ears just listening to it. 1/5 would not recommend.

I wouldn’t have even known it was Wage War. I would’ve just thought, “what a shitty band trying to pander to the mainstream masses.” The weird sort of Manson/Rob Zombie vibes don’t work either. Just a shit album entirely.

Yeah this suuuuucks lol. Got through 4 tracks and turned it off. Besides the fact that they all sounded almost exactly the same, I actually laughed out loud a couple of times at how silly some of this comes off.
Helps me appreciate all the gloriously good metal we've gotten so far this year.

Worst song on the album HAPPY HUNTING does that’s for sure

This just sounds like a much shittier version of Northlane's Alien
NAIL5 is laughably awful wow

There are a couple Pantera/Lamb of God-ish riffs here and I feel like if they focused solely on that, they would be tolerable

I have the exact same problem with this band that I do with Fit For A King... They are entirely capable of writing absolute barn-burners but can't make a good album to save their lives, and they continuously revert back to this cheesy, anthemic style of metalcore with soaring cleans, and it's so awful. Both bands, when they stick mostly to the heavy, are actually pretty fun.
I kind of understand the instinct, they probably don't want to get day-jobs so they just try to appeal to the lowest-common denominator, it's just annoying cause once in a while they will hit, and it's kind of a tease.

Dude... Come on... Don't put this and Alien in the same sentence. Alien is great.

“could say the same about everything this band's ever done tbh”
Band always sucked. Went to an ETID show years ago and they were opening along with 68. Had fun with 68, stuck around for maybe 5 minutes of the Wage War set, said fuck this I’m gonna get drunk, and came back just in time for the ETID boys to blow my nips off.
For some reason I don’t feel like I missed much

Why does the first track sound like scenecore guys in their mid 30’s trying to emulate a Billie Eilish vibe
