"I'm convinced whoever 2'd this just simply didn't listen to the album"

It's not like that.

Dethmask and the debut LP were decent and I understood what Tom and Josh were going for with this project. Then they felt the need to "mature" their sound by adding more and more synth textures, ballads and cleans. They had already lost me with Oni and they've ventured into that territory even further on this one. Starfire does have its moments, but they're few and far between. Gave it two spins, but wish I hadn't bothered with the second.

Review is good, though. Pos'd.

Rampage weakest track as expected (not counting the interludes)

Pizza reviews becoming more unhinged by the day, I love it.

I feel like the introduction of melody for these guys could be helpful. I've only heard bits and pieces of their early work, and I kinda liked it. However, at a certain point, heaviness for the sake of heaviness wears off.

Literally the only thing I would like from them in the future is an actual riff once in a while. Also a Courtney feature

The problem is that melodies sort of suck. I appreciate the attempt to break up the insane heaviness with a few more chill, melodic tracks but they sort of go nowhere and more often than not, suck the wind out of any sort of flow that this record had. Tom is excellent vocalist, just not a great singer.

I'd really hope she'd sing in it, like an entire repeated chorus
