I agree their last two albums have been very good. WALLS was ok but def their worst album by miles.

Exactly. The first 7 songs of WYSY is some of their best material since CAS. This is good, but it lacks memorability imo



@Nadal2021 I view Walls more or less the same as I view this in terms of personal enjoyment. I don't think they have a bad album, though.

When I think of Kings Of Leon it always reminds me of how the first girl I kissed/sort of had a relationship with back in 2008 was really into them. We were in college, Only By The Night was about to come out, and I was listening to "Sex On Fire" a lot, trying to figure out if I thought this band was cool or stupid. Hearing those songs from back then conjures very conflicted feelings, which was true to that time in life, I suppose.

Oh anyway, this album. Well, I listened to "Seen" to see if it's any good, and within ten seconds I thought, "Lol, it's like one day Caleb Followill said, 'alright boys, let's rip off Gleemer!'" Not bad. I think Coldplay's "Chinese Sleep Chant" is still my favorite instance of "very not shoegaze band attempting to write a shoegaze song", though.
