yeah they definitely sit better in the mix this time. performance still sounds like karaoke but at least they're kinda mixed like they belong there.

yeah this isnt terrible which really is a crazy thing to be saying about a six feet under record in 2024.

its just so funny to me that the whole point of this band is to be showcase for chris barnes and he is consistently the worst part on every single record.

Having now listened to it, it's definitely better than the last few. But obviously that's not saying much, and Barnes' voice (even without the EEEEEs) is really distracting. His cadences are super repetitive, and he constantly alternates between rushing and dragging his parts. With that said, Jack Owen is (kinda) the saving grace here; he definitely stepped his game up riff-wise and songwriting-wise from the previous album. But yeah... it's still the typical mediocre SFU offering one would expect, and I won't come back to it anytime soon. Pretty sad that a 2 is being generous at this stage of their career

Edit: also, I just realized that this comment reads like a soundoff. Maybe I could put it there as well

Nah, I'm sorry this sucks. Not as bottom barrel as the EEEE album or the Graveyard Classics, but its still bargin bin DM with very repetitive riffs with some decent leads from Jack Owen.

lmao at how quick the average for this dropped, i only heard the know nothing ingrate single annnd it was appropriately six feet under. bands usually pretty silly but i honestly haven't given any of their 15+years of records a shot, i do know they go thru line-ups pretty quickly and there's usually some notable florida OGs[or chimaira] that end up in sfu.

What if one day these guys just randomly decided to put out a the best death metal album of all-time? The contrarian in me wants that to happen so bad.

this album really speaks to smiders. I guess based on that alone I ought to check this out lol

The groovy part on track 5 is pretty sweet. Are they trying to channel some Sabbath on this record? I think this record would just be better if Barnes wasn't on it lol
