I sold Owen to a friend as "emo Bill Callahan" lol. He just has such a distinct, unmistakable voice. Album is very nice.

Finally finished it. Really immaculate atmosphere, I'm a sucker for it every time, but it didn't really hold up to a focused, analytic listen for me. It had more than a few moments where I was leaning my head to some interesting tones and hooks, though. For that, it's above the Avalanche imo

@neekafat haven't listened to his whole discography yet, but i'm a big fan of Ghost Town and Avalanche, so I'd recommend them.
Still, I don't think he's an album artist exactly, imo, some songs are amazing, others are ok, and generally Mike doesn't deviate noticably from his usual formula. For that reason I'd say that Falls of Sioux is probably the most refreshing of his efforts in a while. So you might as well try listening to random songs, if that's your thing.

I actually really like this album. I should bump the rating when I get a moment it's at least a 4.0 now. Le'ami du Pueple is absolutely his worst one. I love Coffin Companions that's a 5.0 song easily but the rest of the album is largely meh.

What do you think of Who Cares? That song sucks. A Fever is good but that was a b-side awhile ago. Coffin Companions is one of his best. Blues to Black is good. I actually when I relistened to it then like the Where Do I began fade into Vivid Dreams. But I still feel like that is one of his worst. Though I did turn on the last two songs to liking 'em.

I don’t think I’ve heard an Owen song I thought sucked. he has a very high baseline of quality. but Who Cares is not a standout in his discog. I like the medley in the last two songs on L’ami Du Peuple a lot, always have. also like Love Is Not Enough a lot
