I agree with el doctor... Passenger seat is one of the best songs on the album. If a song can create or surface imagery while I'm listening to it, well, that's pretty powerful.
Now, if you enjoy Death Cab For a Cutie, I would also check out a band called Dntel. And after that, pick up another group called The Postal Service. A collaberation between Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello (Of Dntel) with guest apperances by Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley) and Jen Wood.
This one, I keep on repeat. ^_^

one of DCFC finest moments belong on this album - the simple yet complex riff in A Lack Of Colour. Good review, ihateusernames. some songs lacked some detail, but good nontheless

Bought it today. I like it. "The New Year" is a bit of an awkward track, as it has no chorus and is composed of two completely different parts (the second is amazing...).
Great review.

death cab has some cool original sounds but can get a little repetitive imo

I really wish FOX wouldnt have put just about every song from Death Cab on the freakin O.C. WTF!!!
Anyways, this was a great cd to put on at a party and maybe toke a fatty to until it was ruined. Damn you Rupert!!

I liked the first few songs (first 5, mainly), but other than that, I'm not a fan.
I'd only listen to it the whole way through if I was driving (this album is much better when you drive. Really.)This Message Edited On 01.28.06This Message Edited On 01.28.06

"This album is great to drive around at night to"
You've got no idea how amazing it is that you thought this as well. I drove around for two hours last night with a friend and listened to this album. I enjoyed rolling down my window and looking up at the stars through the sun roof durring "Passenger seat".
This is one of my personal favourite albums... ever!

Transatlaniticism only beats out Photo Album as their best album IMO cause of the connecting tracks. Gives the entire album a feeling of 'oneness,' if ya dig...
We Looked Like Giants is my fav of this one.

best six tracks in that order, title and registration is way too poppy, this reviewer probably found them on the OC hence why he thinks the one off that show is so good, a pox on ye. the later half of the album is the real highlught. plans is also highly underrated, their earlier stuff lacked the creativity of these albumsThis Message Edited On 05.25.06
