I've been going between a 4 and 4.5, overall I'd say 4, but the combo of my two most adored songs ever (Ornament/The Last Wrongs & Music For A Nurse) makes this album deserve a 4.5

There is nothing wrong with sounding "generic" if it's done well, but this doesn't really sound like generic rock anyway, it's just more streamlined than their usual approach, which is what I love about it. I like all their albums, but this is the one I tend to listen to most because, while it's long, it doesn't feel that long. When I listen to Effloresce and Frames I usually get to a point where it feels like the album will never end and I end up skipping the weaker tracks.

but this has more weak tracks than the other two LPs

you're right there is nothing wrong with sounding "generic". I just don't enjoy the sound of what I'm labeling "generic rock", not because it sounds "generic", I just don't like the sound. It doesn't make it bad. It's the generic-progressive-rock sound of a manly guy singing over distortion with guitars not playing the chords I like

I'm not sure if I like this better than Effloresce yet. They are both brilliant albums.

I loved this every bit as much as their other albums, didn't find it generic at all either

this has grown on me recently but it's still no where near as good as Effloresce or Frames

I'm rly starting to click with Effloresce. Where does this rank against that? I like Effloresce's darker moods, songs...does this get happier?

I'm gonna be honest, I might like this more than Effloresce. It's easier to listen to at least. Lately I haven't been able to
get enough of this album.
Also I'm really digging Heaven Alive too, think i'm the only one on the site.

I listened to "Ornament/The Last Wrongs" last night like five times in a row, because I couldn't sleep. Incredible way to waste an hour.

Music For a Nurse would be an excellent song to have passionate sex to.

Kind of want to give this a 5. It's almost my favorite Oceansize record...
Seriously though Music For a Nurse makes me want to make sweet love to a streamy nurse.

If it's "Ornaments/The Last Wrongs" no man can last the whole song.

KoraX,
I love this review and I love this band. I´ve been a huge fan for all these years and I´m sad they broke up. Everyone Into Position was the first Oceansize album I´ve ever listened to and, right from the start, it got me into their wonderful sound and I kept listening to Oceansize almost non-stop from that point on. Nice to see quite a few people here liking Oceansize. And for the record, I´m not a native speaker, either and I can totally understand you having a hard time finding the right way to describe your feelings when reviewing an album. Let me tell you, you´ve done an awesome job here and I think that your review is really, really good. Thanks!
