you still have 5 Slayer albums rated as classics.
They deserve 'em
Let's end this argument right here.
alrighty then.

Album Rating: 3.5
Saying one opinion is more "realistic" than another is stupid and wrong. If anyone here can make a solid arguement proving why one opinion is right and one is wrong I'd sure love to hear it. People have their opinions.

We've already resolved this, Shadowsfallen. Let's not stir it up again.

I know, I'm just venting. I get frustrated when people start arguing over these kinds of things.
To lighten the mood, my avatar is Kerry King playing bagpipes.

Why must you continue to have sweet Slayer-esque avatars ShadowsFallen?
Thats one of my favorite pictures of Kerry King btw...I saw it awhile back ago and made it as my desktop...I laughed at it every time.

Whoa, I'm in Australia, I go to bed, and when I get up look what had become! I think I should justify and respond to some points made;
As I said, SoH review was great. Period. I wasn't aware someone else was planning on reviewing this so I chose to punch out a short one. I deliberatly wrote a short tbt review with simple song descriptions to keep the length down. Believe me, I know how to write elequently, I chose not to on this occasion. I do however think I talked about the songs enough individually and used adequatly varied descriptions. Additionally, I explored some points not raised by SoH, such as the King/Hanneman influence.
I did not intend to write "realistic" or popular review based on a concensus, I wrote a review based on my opinion. Flesh Storm is a good song, Skeleton Christ is average, and Jihad is great (not in the top echelon of Slayer though imo, hence 4.5). I thought Catatonic was the best song on here, and unlike some I like Eyes of the Insane.
I too am a rabid Slayer fan. I got into Slayer just before Diabolus In Musica was released. How old were you guys then? SLAYER

Jeff writes better stuff by far, but Kerry really stepped it up on this album I feel.
I've been a follower of Slayer since I was 14, and I'm now 18, so I would say right around when GHUA came out, though that wasn't my first album by them, 'Reign in Blood' was.

I gotta agree, King's effort is a lot better here and was really suprising, a lot better than GHUA. Seasons was my 1st Slayer album, closely followed by RIB.
I didn't mean to sound condasending, but it seems like there are a lot of boppers on here trying to be *enter band* greatest fan. I already got flamed by some punk saying they were Tool's biggest fan ever and he wanted to have Maynard's children or something like that.

Then please explain to me what you mean by 'a more realistic take'?
Not being a fanboy

Nah Bicep, I would never call myself Slayer's biggest fan. I do love them with all of my heart though, I just don't have Slayer carved into my forearm and stuff...

HEY! Watch it buddy!

But I m teh Slayer's biggest fanboy.

pshh...I was only talkin about being a mediocre Slayer fan...real fans carve it onto their neck by themselves and then throw salt onto it

Who cares what an internet obsessive thinks anyway? the internet is about geeks and computers. Why is it that your e-generation can't produce a band huh? sad really.
