I agree with most of this review, but "If Work Permits" is fucking awesome.

I'm actually kind of ashamed of myself for forgetting this album once Best of '06 lists were posted. This is definitely up there, above my 9 and 10 at least. This Message Edited On 02.26.07

It's not hard to pass up an album amid a year's worth of music.
Plus, this pretty sweet indie pop- music which is often consumed quickly and then disposed of.

I still listen to this on repeat. This is such good stuff. I was elated to see this #1 on one of the staff's year end list.

This is a very good album, tongue-in-cheek, and just all around enjoyable and entertaining. It must be said though that the last half of the album is absolute shit when compared to the first half.
Matches is all delicate and cool. John Paul described it very well the other day to me when he called it "a surreal blending of a music box and a carnival. And some high-pitched guy named Nate."
Good stuff.

They almost sound like Queen with their vocal harmonies in some parts throughout the album.

I just can't stop listening to this album. I am more addicted to this than I was with Mew, and that is saying something. Some of their songs do sound very Queen-like, especially the song Dog Problems.

i've been listening to the format for a year now, and they still havent gotten boring. def. one of my favorite bands
something i found cool:
on interventions and lullabyes, the very last line is "and we all fall down", and the first line on dog problems is 'ashes to ashes.."
about ring a round the rosies?

I was watching the tail end of Wedding Daze the other day and who did I hear? Nate Reuss. I'm already a fan of fun. and was thinking that he sounded just as good, if not better, here. I really need to get this.

Catchy Indie-Pop, but not as amazing or beautiful as fun.
